Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977)
Tuesday Oct 10, 2023
Tuesday Oct 10, 2023
Listeners...we live in a world that has music podcasts, and those music podcasts have to be guarded by co-hosts with amazing jokes. Who's gonna do it? You, Bob Ross? You, John Popper? The Beck Did it Better podcast has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for more music discussion, and you curse our Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles talk. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know....that this podcast, while tragic, is probably the best podcast about disco music; and that our existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, is the best podcast about the Bee Gees and 163rd greatest album of all time, the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
You don't want that truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you WANT to hear song parodies about cow pee and you NEED to hear us talk about sex tourism in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota.
We have neither the time or the inclination to explain ourselves to the dumbshit single-finger shifters who skip ahead to (54:00) to listen to the amazing Saturday Night Fever analysis that we provide and then question the manner in which we provide it.
We would rather that you just said "thank you" and recommend Beck Did it Better to your friends. Otherwise, we suggest you join us next week for the best Johnny Cash podcast, when we pull back the Long Black Veil on At Folsom Prison. Either way, we don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to.
Did we talk about cock cages for a second week in a row on this podcast? We did the job!
Did we talk about the real big nasty ones on this podcast? YOU'RE GODDAMN RIGHT WE DID!!!

All's fair in tantric love, war, and our most remarkable episode ever, the best podcast about The Police, and the 159th greatest album of all time, Synchronicity.
But before we get to the album we make some pre-jokes about Robo Cop's pro wrestling debut, baseball field maintenance, and the best ice cream flavors. We also become the best self-care podcast when we discuss manicures and whether it's okay to sleep on the other side of the bed. Warning, These opening licks are sure to leave a couple of wet spots.
Then, at (40:00), this podcast bends when other podcasts end and we discuss the Police's most successful studio album, Synchronicity. We cover Sting's contributions to the police, the reggae influence on the Police, and the best songs from Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s. We also discuss the conflicts between the Police band members and how they couldn't stand to record in the same studio together. Sounds a bit familiar, huh?
Next week this podcast comes alive and we've got a little story for you when we become the best Pearl Jam podcast and cover the rock band's 1991 debut studio album, Ten.
