In 2020, before we started in on the Top 500 list we recorded a few practice episodes, one of which was on this album. So while the audio quality is a bit choppy our social disease has caused us to release this original episode for the first time ever.

 

But before we say goodbye to Norma Jeane we're putting on our electric boots and mohair suits and chatting about baby showers, vacationing with kids, and some TV and movie recommendations that are rolling well-known.

 

Then at (19:00) we break out our switchblade knives and get you oiled up like a diesel train when we talk about Elton John and his 7th studio album, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. We talk about Elton's musical partnership with songwriter Bernie Taupin, the best songs about Saturday, and the worst song of any album on the Top 500 list. In this week's episode, your hosts show some great control, and it has nothing to do with some weird blood flow thing, when we become the best podcast about Janet Jackson and the 111th greatest album of all time, Control.

109. Lou Reed: Transformer (1972)

This week's episode is more than meets the eye when we become the best podcast about Lou Reed and the 109th greatest album of all time, Transformer. Seriously this episode is really good...somewhere.

 

But before we talk about the album, the first half of this podcast is a real vibe check when we discuss the new Roc Marciano album, electric toothbrushes, and why squirrels are splooting. We also take a wine flight tonight and discuss the best wineries in Minnesota. We don't tell you what tannins are but we make sure you know you can't go across the water unless you have power. 

 

Then at (46:00) we just keep you hanging on when we talk about Lou Reed's second solo studio album, Transformer. These four blokes discuss Lou Reed's distinct voice, David Bowie and Mick Ronson's influence on this album, and the best songs featuring the recorder. We also become the best royal family podcast when we celebrate British musicians and their connections with the crown.
