39. Talking Heads: Remain in the Light
Tuesday May 04, 2021
Tuesday May 04, 2021
We are talking about the band that Russell thinks is Rob's favorite, The Talking Heads! We are talking polyrhythms, chicken coops, and how an album can really lose some steam at the end!
We start by talking about the bar we hung out in college and the smooth sounds of Rick James. Then Aaron tells a great story about the greatest challenge he has ever faced in his life. Then we talk parenting and swearing and the challenges of eating an everything bagel. We go over what got stolen out of Rob's jeep and gym etiquette with Russell. We talk beeps and blips and Aaron's Big Curve.
Aaron drops the Fela Kuti knowledge and we discuss what a henhouse is.

We are talking G-Funk, Nate Dogg, Warren G, and that west coast gangsta rap with Snoop and Dr. Dre. We play the hit new game Aar-in or Air-Out and then talk about our favorite weed songs and where Afroman stands on Mt. Marijuanamore. The only problem is that this episode is a bit of a ligma.
We discuss going a retreat to India like the Beatles, more Billie Eilish, Peloton streaks, and Russell's newfound love for Beats by Dre.
We talk about the influences of Parliment on Dre, how much this album shaped our youths and how this probably could not get made today.
