26. Patti Smith: Horses (... and Tecmo Bowl!)
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
Tuesday Feb 16, 2021
We look at a New York proto-punk legend, Patti Smith, and her combination of music and poetry. We get to hear Aaron sing a bit on the opening song and we make a rare apology to Aaron. Then Russ apologizes to Rob and eventually, Matt apologizes to us all.
Rob summarizes the three Alicia Silverstone Aerosmith videos, we talk baseball cards, Aaron doesn't talk about food, and we talk about what stresses us out.
Then we talk Horses and we break down her influence on modern music and we discuss how to become a poet and we discuss beaches. Russ takes us for a ride and talks about the greatest Nintendo songs in history.

Tuesday Feb 09, 2021
Tuesday Feb 09, 2021
We are 1/4 of our way through 1/5 of the list and we are talking about one of the greatest songwriters of all time with Carole King. We talk ring tones because we are all old as hell and you know we are talking about Crazy Frog.
Then we talk about watching movies together in college and we follow Russ of his Odyssey of mailing some shirts. Then we talk about more baking classes and waterbeds.
Russ takes us on a journey with famous composer/ arranger David Campbell and the ending will shock you! We talk about Carole King and the covers of her songs by Aretha Franklin, Roberta Flack and James Taylor.

24.The Velvet Underground and Nico (...and the Glockenspiel)
Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
Tuesday Feb 02, 2021
We listen to the eponymous album by The Velvet Underground and Nico. We start by talking about Aaron's brand new foot issue after we make fun of him for his food-based Rolling Goen. Then Aaron keeps it going by talking about how this album caused him to read some of that classic Lou Reed fan fiction and the joys of going hiking.
We talk relegation and getting dumped because someone listened to episode 0 (don't do this please.) Then we get down business to talk about the greatest glockenspiel song and what exactly a glockenspiel is. Somehow we bring in Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen and Buddy Holly.
Then we find out what Matt thinks about the episode and we finally break down ostrich tuning and what we think of Nico's unique voice.

22. The Notorious B.I.G: Ready to Die
Tuesday Jan 26, 2021
Tuesday Jan 26, 2021
We talk about the 90's hit by the Notorious B.I.G. We delve right into the music and our memories but we have to get some stuff out of the way to begin. We get a caller to the BECK LINE who shares her favorite dirty Christmas song and the rest of the episode is a true cakewalk.
The reviews are in from experts in the art of speech and we talk about the worst conversations you can be in. Then we start out an epic tale of baking cookies and we go on our own flavor story. Speaking of stories, we delve into the master storytelling of Christopher Wallace while we listen to the first gangster rap album on the list.
Aaron revisits the Kurtis Blow news corner and then talks funk in Ohio (including the Ohio Payers) and of course talks Parliament/ Fred Wesley and the Horny Horns.
We also revisit the 90's with some pager talk and a review of the g funk sound and talk about the east coast/ west coast feud and then we end with everyone's favorite segment, "THE RATING SYSTEM (TM)."

21.Bruce Springsteen- Born to Run (Matt is 40!)
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
Hello everyone, get ready to strap your hands across my engines!
This episode is legitimately good! I am just going to start telling people when they are good. We are talking THE BOSS and his 1975 hit album BORN TO RUN! We start with a super special voicemail and then we use parts of that voicemail to make intense jokes about one of us! Standard stuff!
Then we MAKE FUN OF AARON for making assumptions about the size of our basements and then talks about the passing of MF DOOM. Then we talk about watching movies for science and we talk about New Year's resolutions and how sweatshirts can be like an umbilical cord!
We explore the world of mixed drinks and albums and the dangers of online dating and old pictures. We talk New Year's Eve and the performances of Machine Gun Kelly, En Vogue, and the troubling Cyndi Lauper.
Then we go through the album of the man called the "Next Bob Dylan" and we get into your weekly glockenspiel news. We talk Max Weinberg, Clarence Clemons, and how this album was Bruce's last big chance!
Then we go into the best Saxophone solos on "real songs" and we delve into the most popular jukebox songs of all time ( and the answer is depressing!)
